1. General

1.1 How do I set iZito as my homepage?
If you are using Internet Explorer, it works as follows:

1. In the top menubar click Tools
2. Select Internet options
3. Click on the tab General
4. Go to the ‘Home page’ and enter www.izito.cl in the text box
5. Click OK
6. Close Internet Explorer and refresh the browser

Firefox is very simple: drag the link to the house icon in the menu bar.

Step-by-step plan for Microsoft Edge:

1. Click on the icon ... top right
2. Click settings
3. Under ‘Open with’ select ‘Specific page or pages’
4. Select ‘Change’ and enter: www.izito.cl
5. Click +

The process for Google Chrome:

1. Click on the three horizontal lines top right
2. Select ‘Settings’
3. Click on ‘To start’ to ‘open a specific page or series of pages’ and then on ‘Page settings’.
4. Type in ‘Add a new page’: www.izito.cl and click OK

1. Click on the Safari-menu top left and select ‘Preferences’
2. Go to the tab ‘General’

1.2 How can I set iZito as the default search engine?

5. Click on www.izito.cl

1.3 How does your search engine work?
iZito finds the best results for you by searching simultaneously through multiple sources. Ordinary search engines only search in their own database. How high a search result appears on iZito is dependent on the position of the results found and the number of times a search result occurs in multiple machines.

1.4 How does the auto-suggestion work?
On the basis of searches which are most sought after, suggestions automatically appear as you type your search. This makes it easier to find what you need.

2. Search with iZito

2.1 What are sponsored results?
If you would you like to make your web page more visible with certain keywords, then you can advertise with these keywords. When a user searches on one of these keywords, this website is shown at the top in the sponsored results. This can be done via Google Adwords.

2.2 Can I use special punctuation in my search?
Yes, you can. If you use a punctuation mark (for example: ë, é, ê, è) with a search term, only words with the punctuation mark are found. If you do not use a punctuation mark, it will search for matching words with or without punctuation. This means that you can search for French, German or Spanish words, even if you have a keyboard that only supports Dutch.

2.3 How can I refine my search?
You can refine your search by using the advanced search option.

2.4 How can I do an advanced search?
This is possible by going to https://www.izito.cl/adv/ and making your search very specific.

2.5 Can I use fixed settings if I search?
Yes, you can. You can achieve this by setting your personal preferences. Your computer remembers these settings. The next time you want to search, the settings are automatically set to your preferences.

2.6 Why does the ranking of search results sometimes change?
The results of iZito originate from multiple sources. In order to keep the speed of our search engine as optimal as possible, we sometimes do not retrieve results from all sources. This can have an impact on the position of the search results.

3. Webmasters

3.1 Can I register a page (website) with iZito?
Yes, in just one go you can register your website to multiple search engines which iZito makes use of. To do this, go to add site.

3.2 How long will it take before my website is registered?
Once you have registered your website to the search engine, it may take several weeks or months before it is indexed. If your website is easily found by several search engines, it will also do well on iZito.

3.3 How do I get my page (website) higher in the search results?
To be visibly higher in the search results, it is important that your site is as high as possible with the search engines which iZito makes use of. You can register your website to the search engines or hire a company which deals with search engine optimization to do it for you.

3.4 How can I delete a page (website) from search results?
Unfortunately we have no editorial control over the results. This is because iZito makes use of other sources. This makes it impossible for us to change or delete results.

iZito can not exert any active influence on the display of search results, as they are provided by other search engines. If you believe that a result is eligible for removal, on the grounds of conflict of interest, please go directly to the following search engines:

If you want to ensure that your website appears high in the search results, you can advertise your website with certain keywords. This is possible with Google Adwords.

If you believe that iZito is improperly using trademarks/trade names which are owned by your business, you can report this using this form. We will review your complaint and, if needed, remove or adjust the ad or statement(s) within two working days of receiving the complaint.
